On older smart meters (lower than SMR5) an USB-C adapter is required for the P1 Meter to work. It can also be used to power the Active P1 Splitter on older smart meters without a HomeWizard P1 Meter connected to the splitter. This is an optional accessory and not provided with the P1 Meter and P1 splitter out of the box.
