Je gaat koken, zet de oven aan en ineens valt de stroom uit. Dat komt steeds vaker voor nu elektrisch rijden steeds populairder wordt, ook in Nederland. Steeds meer huishoudens hebben daarom een eigen laadpaal. Tegelijkertijd gebruiken we thuis ook veel andere elektrische apparaten, zoals inductiekookplaten, warmtepompen en wasmachines. Wanneer al deze apparaten tegelijk stroom verbruiken, kan de belasting op je elektriciteitsaansluiting te hoog worden. Dit kan leiden tot uitval van de stroom.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Load balancing is een techniek die dit probleem voorkomt. Maar wat is load balancing precies, en wanneer heb je het nodig?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Wat is load balancing?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Het is een slimme functie van de laadpaal die ervoor zorgt dat je elektriciteitsaansluiting niet overbelast raakt. De hoofdaansluiting in je meterkast heeft een maximale hoeveelheid stroom (amp\u00e8re) die tegelijkertijd gebruikt kan worden. Wordt deze grens overschreden? Dan schakelt de stroom automatisch uit om schade te voorkomen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Met load balancing wordt continu gemeten hoeveel stroom je huishouden gebruikt. Op basis daarvan past de laadpaal automatisch het laadvermogen aan. Gebruik je veel stroom in huis? Dan verlaagt de laadpaal tijdelijk het vermogen. Gebruik je weinig stroom? Dan wordt het vermogen verhoogd. Zo voorkom je dat de stroom uitvalt en dat je je aansluiting moet laten verzwaren. Dit heeft invloed op hoe snel je auto oplaadt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Wanneer heb ik load balancing nodig?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Niet elk huishouden heeft het per se nodig, maar in veel situaties is het sterk aan te raden.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Je hebt er waarschijnlijk baat bij als je:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\" wp-block-list eplus-wrapper eplus-styles-uid-e29fc7\">\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">veel elektrische apparaten gebruikt;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">een warmtepomp of inductiekookplaat hebt;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">een relatief beperkte netaansluiting hebt;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">regelmatig meerdere apparaten tegelijk gebruikt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Zonder loop je het risico dat je stoppen doorslaan wanneer je auto aan het laden is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Hoe werkt load balancing bij een laadpaal?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Het werkt via communicatie tussen je laadpaal en je meterkast. In veel woningen wordt de laadpaal direct gekoppeld aan de P1-poort van de slimme meter. Heb je al een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homewizard.com\/nl\/p1-meter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">P1 Meter<\/a> aangesloten? Dan is soms een splitter nodig. Sommige laadpalen kunnen ook data uitlezen via bijvoorbeeld de P1 Meter. Heb je een oudere meter? Dan kan een installateur een extra meter plaatsen om het stroomverbruik te meten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">De laadpaal:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\" wp-block-list eplus-wrapper eplus-styles-uid-02d36a\">\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">meet het actuele stroomverbruik in huis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">bepaalt hoeveel capaciteit er nog over is;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\">past automatisch het laadvermogen aan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Dit gebeurt continu en volledig automatisch, zonder dat je er iets voor hoeft te doen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Welke soorten zijn er?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">In de praktijk wordt vaak onderscheid gemaakt tussen load balancing voor \u00e9\u00e9n laadpaal en systemen die vermogen verdelen over meerdere apparaten of laadpunten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Load balancing (thuis)<br><\/strong>Hierbij past \u00e9\u00e9n laadpaal het laadvermogen aan op basis van het stroomverbruik in huis. Dit is de meest voorkomende situatie bij particulieren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Load balancing bij meerdere gebruikers<br><\/strong>In complexere situaties, zoals bedrijven of appartementen, wordt het beschikbare vermogen verdeeld over meerdere laadpalen of andere grote verbruikers (zoals warmtepompen of batterijen). Hierdoor krijgt elk apparaat een deel van de beschikbare capaciteit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Load balancing en zonnepanelen.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Heb je zonnepanelen? Dan kan load balancing hier indirect mee samenwerken. De laadpaal kijkt namelijk naar het totale stroomverbruik op je aansluiting, inclusief opwek en verbruik op hetzelfde moment. Wek je veel zonne-energie op terwijl je auto laadt? Dan wordt een groter deel van die stroom direct gebruikt door je auto. Is er minder opwek of meer verbruik in huis? Dan wordt automatisch meer stroom uit het net gehaald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Let op: load balancing zelf stuurt niet actief op zonne-energie. Daarvoor heb je specifieke functies of een laadpaal met een eco-stand nodig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\" wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile eplus-wrapper\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 39%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Hoe weet je hoeveel stroom je kunt gebruiken?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Om te bepalen of load balancing nodig is, is het belangrijk om je maximale aansluitcapaciteit te kennen. Deze vind je op je energierekening of in de specificaties van je meterkast. Wil je meer inzicht? Dan kun je een P1 Meter of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.homewizard.com\/nl\/kwh-meter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kWh Meter<\/a> gebruiken. Afhankelijk van het type laadpaal, kan dit oplopen tot 3,7 kW (1-fase), 11 kW (3-fase) of 22 kW (zakelijk). Gebruik je tegelijkertijd andere apparaten? Dan kan je maximale capaciteit snel bereikt worden. Juist daarom is load balancing in veel huishoudens geen luxe, maar een slimme keuze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Wat kost load balancing?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Load balancing is meestal een eenmalige investering in je laadpaal of installatie. Het alternatief (je netaansluiting laten verzwaren) brengt jaarlijks hogere kosten met zich mee via je netbeheerder. In veel gevallen is load balancing daardoor de voordeligste oplossing op de lange termijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Conclusie: is load balancing de moeite waard?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">In de meeste huishoudens is load balancing een slimme en vaak noodzakelijke toevoeging. Alleen als je een zeer ruime netaansluiting hebt en weinig gelijktijdig verbruik, kun je mogelijk zonder.
